




The Union Election Commission held a meeting with the registered political parties at its office on Saturday.
Commission Chairman U Ko Ko discussed that the commission has been granting permission for establishment of political parties and registration process in line with the law. At present there are 53 political parties while one party is under the scrutiny process.
He urged all to strive for meeting the designated party members and opening of party offices within the designated time frame in line with the law. He stressed the need to make organizing works for the interest of the people and their designated regions. For holding the multi-party democracy general election, the Commission Chairman outlined the permission for election observers in line with the norms.
He added that the commission is striving to hold the election, with the formation of the prestigious Hluttaw, as guided by the Head of State. He urged the political parties to make cooperative efforts for turning out qualified Hluttaw Representatives.
