Election matters: UEC Chairman met with the political parties in Lashio

Union Election Commission Chairman U Thein Soe accompanied by UEC members U Myint Oo and U Khin Maung Oo met the chairperson and members of the Kokang Democracy Unity Party (KKDUP) and Shan State Kokang Democratic Party which have already received the right to register on 8 May 2023 under the laws and regulations on the registration of political parties and inspected the party’s processes at the local battalion guest house in the morning on 19th June.

At the meeting, the UEC Chairman instructed to comply with the financial rules and regulations issued by the UEC, to organize party members, open the party offices to meet the specified numbers and time, to implement party signboard and party flag in line with the law, by-law and directives, to conduct the systematic preparations to be ready when the departmental combined team led by the UEC members inspect the political parties and make the necessary preparations for the compiling voters list and scrutinizing processes as the parties will be allowed to participate in those processes.

Then, the chairpersons of the political parties clarified the necessary matters.
