The Eiffel Tower lit up in blue for the SOS Ocean summit

The Eiffel Tower was lit up in blue on March 30, 2025, to mark the SOS Ocean summit in Paris.

The event, held from March 30 to 31, aimed to raise awareness about ocean preservation. The summit brought together 60 political leaders, scientists, and international representatives at the Musée de l'Homme and Musée de la Marine.

Key topics included pollution, rising sea levels, overfishing and marine biodiversity loss. Organized by the Oceano Azul Foundation and Bloomberg Philanthropies, the summit sought to inspire concrete actions to restore marine ecosystems. Goals include protecting 30% of oceans by 2030 and supporting a sustainable blue economy. The summit precedes the third UN Conference on Oceans in Nice this June.
