The very first own tune composers and singers competition is open to music enthusiasts in Myanmar. The title of the competition is ”so” own tune composers and singers competition that welcomes anyone of all ages who wants to create music and sing.
The purpose of the competition is to emerge the amateur singers with hidden talent and to bring out the young composers.
Song composer, Myint Moe Aung said "We will start judging from the stage where only 50 singers and 50 song writers remained. The unique of the competition is the inclusion of song composing competition. It is rare to have in our country. We can see performances together by the songwriter group and singer group. The singers can compete with the popular songs or their own songs. But one thing is for sure, they will have to compete with our chosen songwriter’s songs if they are level up. We can listen the own tune songs with the new singers."
For the song composer, the own composed songs played with their favorite instruments by the contestants are sent online. The singers will compete with the popular songs or their own songs. Starting from the quarter final, the selected contestants will be judged by the three main judges- song composer, Myint Moe Aung, singer Chaw Su Khin and Singer / songwriter Wai Gyi.
Organizer, Ko Latt (Oasis) said "In our country, composition competitions are rare. But if we organize only composition competition, it is really boring. So, we jointly organized composition and singing competitions at the same time. We have no age limit. This competition is the only way to sing in front of people. We just nurture the amateur singers and songwriters."
Each 4.5 million Kyats in prizes and other grand prizes will be awarded to the winner of the composer competition and winner of singer competition respectively.
The competition will be broadcast live on Channel 9 and Sky Net Music Channel starting in the second week of August.
