Efforts for Rural Development: Meeting on 2nd 4-month process of 2023-2024 Fiscal Year

Department of Rural Road Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development held a work coordination meeting on the 2nd 4-month work process of the 2023-2024 fiscal year at the meeting hall of the department in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

At the meeting, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe said that the department set the goals to continuously develop the road networks and implement the roads to be used in all seasons in villages in Myanmar before 2030 for improvement of the socio-economic life of rural people.

He urged officials to conduct a field survey before the constructions of roads and bridges, with detailed Feasibility Survey in a timely manner, estimating and setting the standards. He added that it is necessary to carry out systematic inspection in the construction works to meet the set quality standards.

Then, the director general of the Department of rural roads development, and directors from the regions and states rural roads development departments reported their work activities and future plans. Deputy Minister U Myint Soe and Permanent Secretary U Khant Zaw elaborated on the development and cooperation activities, and Union Minister gave necessary instructions.
