Efforts for Religion: Donation of offertories, clean-up activities at monasteries

Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, accompanied by members of the region government and responsible officials visited the Maha Jotika Yama and Yankin monasteries in Monywa Township on Saturday, and then they donated Waso robes and offertories to Sayadaws and supplicated religious matters.

After that, the Chief Minister and party examined the collective cleaning-up activities such as clearance of bushes, drainage canals and mosquito breeding sites conducted by members of Myanmar Police Force, Fire Brigade members, staff from General Administration Department and Township Development Committee and social organizations with the aims for Sayadaws to be able to practice Dhamma with peace of mind and for green and clean environ at surrounding monasteries area.

And then, they provided food items to those engaged in these activities. Similarly, more than 2,300 staff have collectively carried out cleaning up activities at monasteries in Naga Self-Administered Zone, 13 districts and 27 townships of Sagaing Region with the cooperation of military personnel, members of Myanmar Police Force, fire brigade members and other departmental staff.
