Efforts for Industrial Development: Union Minister makes inspection and holds meeting

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited the No. 32 Heavy Industry (Kyangin) in Kyangin Township of Ayeyawaddy Region on Friday afternoon. There, in the meeting with concerned officials and staff, the Union Minister said it’s necessary to have enough human resources to run the State-owned factories at full capacity. He also stressed the importance of maintenance machines and life-long learning and called for efforts to overcome the difficulties.

And, the Union Minister heard report on history and data of the industry and plans, fulfilled the requirements of the staff and provided cash assistance. On June 29, at the Ayeyawaddy Region Government office, the Union Minister presided over a meeting on development of industry and industrial zones.

In his address, the Union Minister highlighted the Industrial Zone Law and By-Law in details and establishment of Central Committee for Development of Industry and Industrial Zone. All must make efforts for development of the country's manufacturing sector by running the industries at full capacity with boiler and electricity. Connection between industrial zones, special economic zones and MSMEs needs to be improved.

He also urged concerned officials to help the MSME sector develop. And, the Ayeyawaddy Region Chief Minister made report on industrial zones in the Region, plans to establish more in Dedaye, Kyonepyaw, Labutta and Myanaung townships and usage of boiler and Gasifier. He also pledged to work for development of industry in the Region in line with the policies.

This meeting continued with clarification on matters including the Industrial Zone Law and By-Law, tasks of the Central Committee for Development of Industry and Industrial Zone and its plans and efforts for the MSME sector development.
