Efforts for Food Sufficiency: Sunflower cultivation demonstrated in Chaung Sone

Mon State Government is making efforts for food sufficiency in the state through the extended cultivation of paddy and oil crops.

On Saturday, quality sunflower seeds were provided to the farmers along with a demonstration on sunflower cultivation, using the seeders. Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein attended the ceremony, held at Kalaby Village in Chaung Sone Township, pledging to provide fertilizer and quality species as well as the farm implement.

He urged the farmers to engage in cultivation with good agriculture practice. This was followed by demonstration of sunflower cultivation by the seeders. Over 5,300 acres oil crops are targeted to cultivate in Chaung Sone Township during 2024-2025 cultivation season.
