Efforts for Ethnic Affairs: Funds, story books handed over in Taunggyi

Shan State Government handed over funds and ethnic illustrated story books to ethnic literature and culture associations, groups and committees on Friday.

During the event at the Director Office under the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs in Taunggyi, Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun urged the groups and committees to preserve and develop speech, literature, art, culture, traditions, national identity and historical heritage.

It is necessary to teach the new generation of ethnic children from school age so that they develop a sense of love and appreciation for their religion, literature and traditional culture. Ethnic literature and culture associations, groups and committees should not discriminate against each other and work together for the development of literary and cultural issues.

At this event, 5 million Kyats each along with ethnic illustrated story books were handed over to 20 ethnic literature and culture associations, groups and committees. After the hand-over event, Chief Minister and officials toured the ethnic literature books displayed in the hall.
