







Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan held a meeting with rectors and heads of departments from the Myitkyina University, state education officer and concerned officials.
The meeting at the University focused on discussions on high pass rate of the matriculation exam in the academic year of 2022/2023. There, the Chief Minister said that in the 2021/2022 matriculation exam, among the regions and states, the pass percentage in Kachin State was 46.37%, and it was ranked sixth in the country, but there were no all distinctions winners.
He called for efforts to increase the pass rate and to obtain all distinctions winners in the matriculation exam in the academic year of 2022/2023.
The rectors and heads of departments from the Myitkyina University, state education officer and concerned officials explained plans to increase the pass rate and to train students from remote and far-flung areas in camps in cooperation with relevant district/township education officers when the exam is near as well as requirements and difficulties.
It’s learnt that in Kachin State, in the 2018-2019 academic year, the matriculation exam pass rate was 29.28 percent. 29.99 percent in 2019-2020 and in 2021-2022, the pass percentage was 46.37 percent. Although the pass percentage has increased during 3 academic years, there were no students wining all distinctions.
