Efforts for Development of Literature: Plans underway for birthday celebration of famous literati

For successful organizing of 555th Birthday Celebration of famous literati Sayadaw Shin Maha Rahta Sara, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture held a work coordination meeting on 20th September.

During the opening remarks, Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin stated that the celebration of Sayadaw’s Birthday aims to cherish Myanmar literature by the future generations and to know the gratitude of Sayadaw in along the history of Myanmar literature.

He also added that Myanmar is one of the countries with its own literature and culture around the world and Bagan and Innwa Eras played vital role in the history of Myanmar literature.

Among the literati in Innwa era, the literatures written by Sayadaw Shin Maha Rahta Sara have been contributing for Myanmar literature till to dates. He called for cooperation and collaboration of all concerned persons for the success of this celebration.

Afterwards, the Director General of the Department Historical Research and National Library reported on the preparation progresses for organizing the ceremony. The Union Minister gave necessary instructions on the discussion of the related departmental officials.

It is learnt that the 555th Birthday Celebration of Sayadaw will be held resoundingly at Myanmar International Convention Center (2) on the 23rd of September along with performance programme, paper reading session and displaying of commemorative booths.
