Effort for Green: MoALI UM joined the tree planting ceremony

The monsoon season tree planting ceremony of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation was held at Yayzin Dam in Zayyarthiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 20th June and attended by the Union Minister U Min Naung, Deputy Ministers Dr. Aung Gyi and U Bo Bo Kyaw and senior officials and they planted 510 teakwood saplings and encouraged the tree planting by the personnel.

Similarly, the monsoon season tree planting was also conducted at the Agricultural Institute (Pyinmana) by the Department of Agriculture and Nga-Laik reservoir by the Department of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management.

In the ground inspection of perennial and shady trees planted previous year, it’s found out that 80% of those trees are thriving and the substituted planting was carried out at the places of failed trees at 20%, it's learnt.
