Education Sector: Schools and universities inspected

Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe accompanied by Deputy Ministers, Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw and many other concerned officials inspected universities, colleges and basic education schools in Sagaing Region on April 23rd.

First, the Union Minister visited University of Education, Education Degree College, No.1, 2 and 3 Basic Education High Schools, inspected the damaged buildings due to March 28 massive earthquake and coordinated the needs.

There, the Union Minister cordially met with the teachers and gave words of encouragement. The Union Minister said that March 28  devastating earthquake hit many other regions and states including Mandalay and lead damages.

Due to the earthquake,    examination answer papers caught fire and the students will take matriculation exam on June 16. Students who are going to take the exam will be taught their respective subjects at the relevant Basic Education Schools.

During their study period, necessary stationery including text books and exercise books will be provided. The Union Minister provided cash assistance to the teachers and coordinated the needs.

The Union Minister also visited basic education high schools, universities and colleges in Mandalay Region including Yadana Pon University, University of Foreign Languages, Education Degree College and basic education schools in Chan Mya Tha Zi, Maha Aung Myay and Pyin Oo Lwin Townships and fulfilled the needs.
