Closing ceremony of the quality improvement seminar for ethnic literature teachers took place on Friday at the Dawei Education College in Dawei Township.
In this ceremony, Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko expressed his belief that the seminar will help the ethnic literature teachers in producing valuable ethnic youths as ethnic heritages, traditions, languages and cultures were exchanged in the seminar.
The teachers will also get willingness to preserve the country's natural resources and to live in close friendship with each other after knowing the historical backgrounds through the seminar. Acknowledging the value of traditions and cultures of ethnic groups is the first step to preserving intangible cultural heritage.
Intangible cultural heritage is the cultural traditions and ways of living that have been passed down from ancestors and are also things that must be passed on to descendants. The Chief Minister also congratulated teachers for trying to carry out teaching duties in the midst of difficulties for children's literacy which the country's future depends on.
And, the Chief Minister presented certificates of completion to the teachers. The closing ceremony continued with stage performances by teachers and students. It came to an end with presenting cash award of 200,000 Kyats to the teachers and students for their stage performances.
