Education sector: MoU signed between UCM and NMDC

MoU signing ceremony of academic cooperation between the University of Co-operative and Management (Thanlyin) under the Ministry of Co-operative & Rural Development and the National Management Degree College (NMDC) under the Ministry of Education was held at the University of Co-operative and Management (Thanlyin) on Wednesday.

Yi Yi Win,Rector,Univ. of Co-operative and Mgmt (Thanlyin) said "Our university has also been offering certificate courses free of charge through online system since May 2022. The certificate courses include business law, business English, entrepreneurship and business management. Under this MoU, our two universities will conduct more teaching and learning activities. Also, our university will offer certificate in digital marketing and innovation course to students of the National Management Degree College through online system starting from the 16th of July."

Under this MoU, teachers and students from the University of Co-operative and Management (Thanlyin) and the National Management Degree College will exchange knowledge and experiences – also, courses will be offered free of charge for the students.

Dr. Nilar Myint Htoo, Principal ,National Management Degree College said "The two universities will also jointly conduct research activities. Our country is an agricultural based and developing country. About 70 % of the population lives in rural areas. So we will conduct research activities on business issues that are important for development of socio-economic life of rural people. Our college mainly teaches business and management subjects, so students from the university of co-operative and management will gain knowledge of business, finance and management."

The MoU between two universities can promote better understanding between the institutions, staff and students of respective institutions and strengthen the basic human recourses for the better socio-economic life of the state.
