Ecuador's Lasso celebrates his second year of govt amid political crisis

Ecuador will hold early elections August 20 after President Guillermo Lasso dissolved congress, the National Electoral Council announced on Wednesday.

All 137 members of the unicameral National Assembly will be up for re-election, along with elections for president. Ecuadorean president Guillermo Lasso speaks in an official event to present the annual report on his second year term, one week after he dissolved the National Assembly and called to early elections avoiding his impeachment.
