Ecuador president presents designs for new maximum-security prisons

Ecuador President Daniel Noboa presented the designs for new maximum-security prisons in the country, saying that one more step towards controlling terrorism and organized crime.

The small South American country has been plunged into crisis after years of growing control by transnational cartels that use its ports to ship cocaine to the United States and Europe.
