Ecuador 'needs support' from international community, says press secretary

At the state-owned television station in the port city of Ecuador, attackers wearing balaclavas stormed into the studio, briefly taking staff hostage and firing shots in dramatic scenes broadcast live before police arrived.
President Daniel Noboa visited the said television station on Friday. During the visit, the President’s Press Secretary said thatEcuador needs all the support from the international community. The government has deployed troops and soldiers are patrolling the streets after a series of explosions. The situation has prompted neighbors Colombia and Peru to reinforce security on their borders.
