Ecuador cable car rescue

Rescuers have freed dozens of people who were trapped overnight in gondolas on the Quito Cable Car, one of the world’s highest cable cars due to a technical failure.

About 78 people had become stuck in mid-air on 6th July, according to the Quito Municipality on Twitter. They were finally brought back down around 10 hours later. The city authorities said the cable car would remain closed until further notice as investigations into the cause of the incident are underway.
