Economy Studies in Myanmar: Centennial Celebration held in Nay Pyi Taw

A Centennial Celebration for Economy Studies in Myanmar took place at Myanmar International Convention Center-2 in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday, with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The ceremony commenced with the screening of commemorative video clip on the Centennial of for Economy Studies in Myanmar. In his speech, the Prime Minister highlighted the crucial role of economy studies in nation building endeavours, in terms of laying down the policy and providing suggestions in successive eras through Colonial period till the tenure of State Administration Council (SAC).

He added that the SAC is implementing for the interest of the nation and its people by laying down the policies and future plans, aiming to achieve harmonious development of all regions in the country. With the development of the nation, the market situation and private sector will be of paramount importance.

The Prime Minister called for active participation of all stakeholders including private entrepreneurs, government staff, NGO staff, economists, those who lead in nation economic development and investors for the success of the future work plans.

He also outlined to draft the Macro Economy Policies and National Economic Development Strategy in order to overcome the challenges of Geo-politics and Geo-economics by conducting research works with an outlook of Political Economy. The ceremony also includes the display of booths commemorating the Centennial of Economy Studies in Myanmar.
