Economic Relief Plan: Harvesting of quality paddy strain in Hpa-An

Sin ThuKha monsoon Paddy strain was harvested by heavy machineries at the paddy field of NaungKaMyaing model village in Hpa-An.

This model field was cultivated with the support of the government under COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan-CERP.

Staff Officer,Department of Agriculture (Hpa-An District), Thet Swe said "According to the CERP plan, we havecultivated 345-acre of monsoon paddy at the model village in Hap-An district. We have harvested over 50 % until now. Our department provides agricultural technique to farmers for cultivation to produce quality paddy. This Sin ThuKha monsoon Paddy can produce 100 baskets per acre."

In order to produce good quality paddy strain, the departments provided agriculture technique and heavy machineries for the progress of mechanization in harvesting process.

Staff Officer, No.20 Agricultural Mechanization Department (Hpa-An), KhinMaungKyaw said "By cultivating with heavy machineries, we can solve the problem on labour shortage, save time and can reduce wastage.
We give service with machinery for farmers to be more convenient in harvesting process."

In Hpa-An District, nearly 250,000 acres of monsoon paddy have been cultivated and among them, 50,000 acres havealready been harvestedtill now.
