Earthquake Rescue Efforts : International and local collaboration in rescue measures

Rescue operations are being carried out in Zabuthiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw, with the combined force of Myanmar Fire Brigade and the Rescue Teams from international community.

A 106-member Vietnamese rescue delegation arrived in Yangon on March 30 to assist with earthquake relief efforts. In response to Myanmar’s request for assistance, Viet Nam has offered an emergency aid package worth 300,000 US Dollar to support earthquake recovery efforts.

Colonel Dao Van Duy, Vietnamese Defence Attaché, said " Having felt the deepest condolences, we informed Vietnam’s Defence Chief to send the rescue team to assist in the operation. Our team is equipped with canines to search for survivors, along with monitoring equipment. Additionally, our medical team is prepared to provide treatment."

The team continues to rescue and recover those affected persons, trapping under the collapsed buildings.
