Organized by Yangon Region Government, an earthquake and disaster risk management drill was jointly conducted by the Department of Disaster Management and students from the Yangon University of Education.

The drill was conducted to minimize losses and damages, save lives and protect properties and the environment by the earthquake due to increased numbers of high-rise buildings in Yangon Region, an official of the Department of Disaster Management in Yangon Region said.

U Than Soe, Director, Department of Disaster Management (Yangon), said " We can’t predict the earthquake disaster.
