EAM Jaishankar’s visit significant for India-Europe ties

India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar participated in the first India-Weimar format meeting on Wednesday, in Paris, comprising representatives of Poland, Germany and France. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar’s Paris visit highlights India’s growing diplomatic role. The Weimar format, which has been European-only for 35 years, engaged with India in discussions for the first time.

The meeting reflects India’s growing strategic importance for Europe at a time of shifting global alignments and rising geopolitical challenges. Choosing Europe for the first to visit in this year Dr. Jaishankar recalled France and Europe are the most important ties in global order.
