Drugs seizure: Drugs worth 2.925 billion Kyats seized

3.82 million of stimulant tablets, 48 Kilos of ICE (methamphetamine) and 50 Kilos of Ketamine worth 7.52 billion Kyats were seized in Yangon Region, according to Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip-off, the combined team comprising anti-narcotic drug task force searched FORD EVEREST vehicle driven by Tint Zaw with Moe Naing Soe (a) Shwe Thee and Ma Nawarat Tun on board on Weizayanta Road, Ward (8) in South Okkalapa Township at Noon on 24th January and sieved 38 Kilos of ICE (methamphetamine), 15 grams of ICE and 400 stimulant tables in a house lived by suspect Tint Zaw and Nawarat Tun on Mahabandula Road, Ward (49) of Dagon Myothit (North) Township and 3.82 million of stimulant tablets, 50 Kilos of Ketamine and 10 Kilos of ICE (methamphetamine) from a TOYOTA ALPHARD and Container Box in a compound rented and lived by Tint Zaw on Thakhin Ohn Pe Gyi Street, Word (42) of Dagon Myothit (North) Township.

Totaling over 3.82 million of stimulant tablets, 48.015 Kilos of ICE (methamphetamine) and 50 Kilos of Ketamine were seized. At 12:30 PM on 29th January, an accomplice of carrying and dealing the drugs, Kyaw Zayyar Nyunt (a) Kyaw Zayya (a) Kyaung Pu was arrested at a hotel on West Township bypass Road, SanSai (a) Ward of Tachileik Township.

According to the confessions, the seized drugs were carried from Shan State, temporarily stored in Yangon Region and will be carried to Kayin State to sell. The culprits have been taken action under the law and the investigation is underway to reveal the chain of offenders.
