Drugs seizure: 13.44 million of stimulant tablets seized in Lewe

13.44 million of stimulant tablets worth over 20.16 billion Kyats were seized in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, according to Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip-off, the combined team comprising members of Anti-Narcotic Drugs Special Task Force searched a LIGHT TRUCK vehicle driven by Zayyar Kyaw leading to Yay Ni from Pyinmana with the accompaniment of Hein Kyaw Min at Taung Sin Aye checkpoint on old Yangon-Mandalay Road in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area at 7 Am on 25th June and seized 13.44 million of stimulant tablets worth over 20.16 billion Kyats.

According to the investigation, three people who participated in carrying stimulant tablets from Kalaw to PyawBwe were arrested near Twin Village of Yamethin Township together with NISSAN BOX vehicle and other three people in Motel in Ywa-Kauk ward in Pyinmana Township together with TOYOTA Will vehicle and Wei Min Phyo who arranged for the carrying of drugs in Ward (1) of Shwepyitha Township of Yangon Region.

According to the consequent investigation, it’s revealed that the seized stimulant tablets were carried in a way of organized crime from Shan State to Yangon Region and the action was taken against the offenders and the investigation is underway to reveal the chain of offenders. Those who involved in the case will be taken action under the Money Laundering Law to be able to confiscate their possessions as the public revenue, it’s learnt.
