Drugs Seized: Stimulant tablets seized in Mandalay Region

A combined team comprising with members of the Anti-drug Unit inspected the suspected Canter Vehicle in Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Region on 8th June.

During inspection, driver Sai Saing Maing and Sai Shin Thant Zin were arrested together with stimulant tablets worth of over 14.15 billion kyats. Additionally, Ye Naung, Nay Linn Htike and Lan Do Mone who were transporting the drugs to Kayin State were also arrested.  

Furthur inspection led to the arrest of  Win Kyaw Thu and Aung Zaw Myo who participated in transporting the drugs in Garden City Residence Compound in Pyigyidagun Township on 10th June. Similarly, Sai Pha @ Aung Min Khant who also took part in transporting the drugs was arrested together with 100 million kyats, 2.5 visses of gold and 3 vehicles at his home.

The arrested persons have been taken action in line with the law and those who involved are also being investigated and identified. Myanmar Police Force has informed that actions will continue to be taken under the Anti-Money Laundering Law in order to confiscate the gold, money, vehicle, apartment and properties of those who involved in the crime as the public property.
