Drugs confiscated: Drugs worth nearly 5 billion Kyats seized in Mandalay

Over 1.6 million of stimulant tablets and over 100 Kilograms of Heroin worth over 4.945 billion Kyats were seized in Mandalay Region, according to Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip-off, the combined team comprising anti-narcotic drug task force searched a warehouse in 139 (A) between 52 and 53 road in (Za) Ward of Pyigyitagun Township at 2:30 PM on January 8 and Hsar Oo and Mai AikKyin were arrested together with 1.11 million stimulant tablets and 92.4 Kilos of heroin put in 9,240 plastic soap cases.

According to the investigation, Hla Thein living in a house between 58 (A) Road and corner of 115 Road in Kanthaya Ward, Chanmyathasi Township was captured at 8 PM on January 9 together with 4.4 Kilos of Heroin, 4.4 Kilos of Heroin and 500,000 stimulant tablets from a Agriculture and Livestock breeding farm of Hein Latt and Ma Aye Aye Aung in Ward (3), Ohn Chaw Village in Patheingyi Township at 10:30 AM on January 10.

It was revealed that the heroin and stimulant tablets were carried from Shan State to Kachin State through Mandalay Region. The culprits have been taken action under the law and the chain of offenders are under investigation, it’s learnt.
