Drug Seizure: Over 4.2 billion kyat worth controlled chemicals seized

Over 4.2 billion kyat worth controlled chemicals have been seized in Sagaing and Kalay townships, the Myanmar Police Force reported.

On August 13th, a combined team of the security forces stopped and searched two 6-wheeler vehicles on Yadanapon Bridge in Sagaing, and discovered over 1,000 tons of Propiophenone. Further investigation revealed the seizure of Caffein and Ammonium Chloride on the 14th and 16th of August respectively.

According to interrogation, these controlled chemicals are being transported to Shan State from Kalay via Mandalay Region to be used in producing narcotic drugs. The case has been filed a lawsuit in line with the law.
