Drug Seizure: Over 27.5 billion kyat worth of drugs seized

On 21st November, Myanmar police force reported that a drug smuggling gang was arrested along with over 27.5 billion kyat worth of heroin, stimulant tablets, ICE (Methamphetamine) and caffeine in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions.

On 5th November, a combined team comprising members of security force confiscated 50.6 Kilo Heroin on FUSO 12 wheels vehicle along with 2 suspects in Kalay Township. In connection with this incident, a total of 6 suspects were arrested in Mandalay and Kalay Townshipsalong with 3 tons of Caffeine, 5.51 million of stimulant tablets, 412 kilos of ICE (Methamphetamine) and 0.43 kilos of heroin.

Acting on a tip off, 6 more suspects were arrested in Pyigyitakhon, Kalay, Chanmyatharsi and Kyaythee townships along with 89.8 kilos of Heroin on 6th November. Therefore, a total of over 27.5 billion kyats worth of Heroin 150.03 kilo, 5.51 million of stimulant tablets, 412 kilos of ICE (Methamphetamine) and 3 tons of Caffeine were confiscated. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
