Drug Seizure: Over 2 million kyats worth stimulant tablets seized

In Mandalay Region, more than 1million stimulant tablets worth over 2 billion kyats were seized, according to the Myanmar police force.

On March 23, a combined team comprising of Anti-narcotic Drug Unit conducted a search on motorcycle driven by PaingSoe, together with EiEi Mon near KyaukChawvillage of PatheinGyi Township, Mandalay Region and seized40,000 stimulant tabletson motorcycle and 5,800 stimulant tablets from PaingSoe and EiEi Mon's residences. 

According to the sequential investigation procedures, Ma Sein@ ThetHtar in MahaAungMyay Township, Wine Aung Myint at ChanMyaTharzi Township, Kyaw Ye Thu with 100,000 stimulant tablets and a motorcycle in PatheinGyi Township and GawYone Sin at ChanMyaTharzi Township were arrested respectively.  

Further investigation led to the seizure of 860,000 tablets at WinAungMyint’s home. It has been found out that the seized stimulant tablets were transported from Shan State to Mandalay Region. Legal actions have been taken against the suspects, and further investigation is underway to capture the related offenders.
