Drug Seizure: More than 15 billion kyats worth drugs seized in Loilem

Over one ton of ICE (methamphetamine) worth more than 15 billion kyats were seized in Loilem, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

On 16 November at 6 p.m., an anti-narcotics task force stopped and searched a Nissan 6-wheel truck on the Loilem–Taunggyi Road in Ward 2 of Loilem. Police found 1.117 tons of ICE, valued at 15.638 billion kyats.

According to investigations, the drugs were being transported from Mongပai to Yangon under the instructions of Ma Dee @ Gon Ja Aung and Tan Kwan, both of whom are still at large. Action has been taken under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law, and police are continuing efforts to arrest others involved.
