Drug Seizure: 1.89 billion kyats worth drugs seized in Mandalay Region

Myanmar Police Force reported that psychotropic substances worth of 1.89 billion kyats were confiscated in Tharzi Township of Mandalay.

On 29th August, a combined forces including Anti-Narcotic Drugs Special Task Force seized 37 Kilos of Ketamine and 6.5 Kilos of Happy Water worth 1.89 Bilion Kyats at near Taung Gwa Village of Tharzi Township in Mandalay Region together with five suspects along with one motorcycle and one LANDCRUISER vehicle.

According to the investigation, it’s revealed that the seized drugs of psychotropic substances were carried in a way of organized crime from Shan State to Myowady Township of Kayin State and the action was taken against the offenders and the investigation is underway to reveal the chain of offenders. The authorities are implementing to effectively deter the distribution of psychotropic substances at the KTV/CLUB/BAR and Restraunts harming the youth.
