Drug Bust in Mayangon Township: Over 1.49 Billion Kyats worth of stimulant tablets seized

Over 1.49 billion kyats worth stimulant drugs were seized in Mayangon Township in Yangon Region, according to the report of Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip-off, a combined team, including the Anti-Drug Unit, conducted a search on January 7th, near a restaurant on Taw Win Road, resulting in the apprehension of 8 suspects and the seizure of a Toyota Succeed vehicle, along with 500,000 stimulant tablets.

Subsequent investigations led to the discovery of an additional 600,000 stimulant tablets and 390,000 stimulant tablets found at the residences of the suspects in No.3 Ward. Additionally, an AD Van vehicle in Thingankyun Township was seized in connection with the case. Among the suspects, MaungShwe Than @ KyawThan, is identified as a fugitive from drug cases in January 2021. A lawsuit has been filed in accordance with the law to address the situation.
