Driving vision: Mercedes-Benz concept car AVTR

This is Mercedes-Benz's vision of the future. The car inspired by the 2009 film Avatar. Designed with the help of Avatar director James Cameron, Mercedes-Benz is describing the Vision AVTR as "less of a machine, and more of a living creature in its own right". The on-screen promotional video shows passengers interacting with the vehicle via an oval-shaped control panel that responds instinctively to human touch.

Mercedes-Benz also says the car is powered by a fully recyclable battery that is based on organic cell chemistry. Mercedes-Benz also hinted on stage that the future car could have a vegan leather-style interior.  The Vision AVTR was unveiled at CES in Las Vegas and is in an embryonic stage.
