Shanghai’s first satellite for science education designed by students from Minhang District’s middle and primary schools was launched into space at Taiyuan satellite launch center. Carrying the student’s space dream, the satellite slowly lifted off at 11:08 am local time.
After the satellite entered orbit, the students watched the transmitted footage excitedly in a small seminar room in Minhang District, Shanghai. Students can also use the satellite to realize the measurement of the distance between the Earth and the Moon, and monitor movements of the moon, so that they can better understand the rotation and revolution of the moon. Afterwards, the satellite will send back data from space, which can also give students the opportunity to systematically carry out a series of space science activities such as measurement and control simulation, exercises and satellite application.
