Drawing Census Units : Magway CM attends the opening ceremony

Chairman of Magway Region’s 2024 Population and Household Census Steering Committee, Magway Region Chief Minister Thiri Pyan Chi U Tint Lwin and committee members attended the the opening ceremony of Census Units drawing course with the use of GIS technology for Magway Region’s 2023 population and household census on Monday.

First, the Chief Minister said that since collecting population and household census is the main task of the Ministry of Immigration and Population,  the course is opened to carry out the drawing of Census Unit with GIS technology for the wards in Magway Region.

Staff from the Township Immigration and Population Department collected the points of the location of wards and villages as the implementation of drawing maps with GIS technology and enumeration of plot which is the preparation of collecting household census in 2024 and 84 percent was completed as the whole nation.

He added that the census reference time is set to the midnight on 30th September 2024the collecting period will start from 1st to 15th October 2024. He also instructed to carry out the task successfully with the cooperation of Governmental organizations, partnership countries, non-governmental organizations along with the cooperation of the people.

Then, the group leader of forming Census Units under the Population Department of the Ministry of Immigration and Population, Assistant director clarified on the forming process of Census Units with GIS technology. After that, the State Chief Minister and officials looked into the drawing processes of Census Units.
