Dragon Boat Festival races

Dragon boat parades and races are in full swing across China as racers are paddling with all hands on the deck to compete for culminating Dragon Boat Festival festivity, which falls on June 10 this year.Celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth Chinese lunar month every year, the festival honors the ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan.

The visitors to Lishi Town of southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality experienced a special on-land dragon boat parade to mark the arrival of festive occasion.According to locals, it’s been 400 years for Lishi to hold land dragon boat activities.
