DPRK welcomes return of engineers' army unit

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Friday held a welcome ceremony for the 528th Regiment of Engineers of the Korean People's Army, which returned from the overseas operational area, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Saturday.

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and president of the State Affairs, attended the ceremony, said the report. Kim said the DPRK "decided to award the regiment the Order of Freedom and Independence 1st Class and nine combatants fallen in the course of completing their military missions the title of the DPRK Hero, the Order of National Flag 1st Class and the Order of Soldier's Honor 1st Class".
