Dozens arrested in Ecuador for alleged drug smuggling using fire trucks

About 20 people, including police officers are presented to the media after a raid in the southwestern coastal region of Ecuador led to their arrest.

These 24 alleged members of the "Chone Killers" drug gang are accused of using tanker trucks and ambulances belonging to the fire department of the city of Duran to traffic drugs. Duran, a small city is prized by narcos for its access to nearby port city Guayaquil, a hub for the smuggling of cocaine to Europe and the United States.
