Donation to Sri Lanka: Handover ceremony of medicines and medical supplies

Handover ceremony of Medicines and Medical Supplies donated from the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka was held at the Department of Medical Research in Yangon. The donations highlighted closed relations and good friendship between the two countries and the words “Sharing is caring”.

Dr. Myat Wanna Soe, Director General, Department of Medical Services, MOH, said " The Government of Sri Lanka made a request to the Government of Myanmar for medicines and medical supplies. So, over 60 kinds of medicines and medical supplies from the hospitals under the Department of Medical Services and the medicines from the Department of Public Health were donated to Sri Lanka."

With the guidance of the State Administration Council, the medicines and medical supplies such as household medicines, rabies vaccine, antibiotic, chronic disease medications and Covid-19 prevention and control protective equipment contributed to Sri Lanka were jointly donated by the Ministry of Health and Myanmar Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Manufacturer Association and the donated amount is over 1.48 million USD.
