Donation ceremony: SAC donates offertories to monasteries in Monywa

The State Administration Council donated rice, edible oil, salt, beans and cash for the sanghas from the monasteries in Monywa of Sagaing Region and the donation ceremony was held at Yan Kin monastery Community Hall in Monywa on Monday.

The ceremony was graced by members of the sanghas from 7 monasteries led by the State Ovadasariya Maha Viza Theitpa monastery SayadawBuddhantaThuriya and Yankin monastery SayadawBuddhantaPyinnyaWuntha, SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo and wife, council members, Union Minister, Sagaing Region Chief Minister and wife, senior military officers of the Commander-in-Chief office and wives and officials.

The Prime Minister and wife and party received the Five Precepts from Yankin monastery Sayadaw and listened toMettaSutta recited by Sayadaws and monks. The Prime Minister and wife then donated offertories, cash, rice, edible oil, salt and beans to Sayadaws.

The congregations also donated offertories to sayadaws and monks. Later, the Prime Minister and wife and the attendees took religious sermons from Yankin monastery sayadaw and shared merits that gained.

The Prime Minister then supplicated propagation of Buddha Sasana, regional development and peace and stability to the Sayadawas and took advice.

At the ceremony, the State Administration Council donated 181 bags of rice, 326 visses of edible oil, 272 visses of salt, 326 visses of beans, 163 visses of vermicelli and 35 million kyats for 791 monks from the monasteries in Monywa of Sagaing Region.
