Donation Ceremony: Offering robes and provisions for flood affected monasteries

On 5th October, a donation ceremony was held at Thayat Taw Pariratti Sarthinteik in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area to donate robes and offertories to the flood affect monasteries and  monastic schools within Lewe Township.

The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Deput Minister Daw Nu Mra Zan and many other concerned officials. Prior to the ceremony, the Union Minister and party paid respect to the presiding sayadaw and donated offertories.

Then, the donation ceremony was continued according to the religious rituals.  During the ceremony, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and well-wishers donated 5.4 million kyat worth of robes and cash assistance for 26 flood affected monasteries.

As of 5th October, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and well-wishers has donated 35 million cash assistance, over 1,300 sets of robe, 702 Buddha statues, foodstuff and essential relief aids to the flood affected monasteries and nunneries from Pobbathiri, Pyinmana, Zeyathiri, Tatkone and Lewe townships.
