Donation of artesian wells: Lingguang Temple Sayadawdonatesfor 5 villages

The cash donation ceremony of Lingguang Temple SayadawChenkyan in Beijing of China was held at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

At the event, leader of delegation explained about the intention of the Lingguang Temple Sayadaw to dig artesian wells for 5 villages in Myanmar and presented donated cash to Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development who gave in turn certificates of honour.

Later, Union Minister U Hla Moe said that this is auspicious occasion for the Minsitry but for Myanmar and its people to make cash donation for carrying out drilling tube wells, water tower and solar water pumping system in 5 villages of Bago and Magway regions.

He expressed thanks for the donation that will benefit to 4,035 people of 1,050 houses as well as improve socio economic life of the people. The wells that are donated will be supervised to make them truly effective on the ground. Although the government and the ministry have been carrying out supply of drinking water every year, there are still villages that do not have enough drinking water as the water sources have dried up due to climate change.

That’s why they will appreciate and welcome more donations, the Union Minister said.
