Disinformation: False news on incident in Rakhine State

Illegal destructive media outlets have disseminated fake news across social media platforms, alleging that about 600 passengers arriving from Yangon to Sittwe and Kyauk Phyu by flights have been arrested at the airports.

In response to these baseless claims, a security officer clarified that standard security measures are in place at the airports, and no arrests have been made.

The officer further emphasized that the spread of disinformation is part of a broader strategy by AA terrorists to disrupt the administrative mechanism and sow instability in Rakhine State, thus instilling panic among local residents. This misinformation aims to divert attention from the terrorists' actions and to foster misunderstanding about the efforts of security forces.
