




The Union Minister for Energy, U Ko Ko Lwin, along with Deputy Minister U Than Zin, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, the Directors-General and Managing Directors of the relevant Departments and Enterprises, and the delegation led by Mr. Wang Qiang, the Chairman of the South-East Asia Crude Oil Pipeline and Gas Pipeline Companies, met and held discussions at the Ministry in the evening on 23rd December.
During the meeting, discussions were held on various matters including the prompt initiation of feasibility studies for the construction of an LNG terminal in Myanmar, the extraction of natural gas, and a project for the shared use of the gas between the two countries. Additionally, there were discussions on the upgrading of the pipeline infrastructure to transport gas from the city of Kunming to the city of Chongqing in China. There were also talks regarding the importation of crude oil through the Myanmar-China oil pipeline and the potential to upgrade and operate oil refineries. The two parties also discussed increasing cooperation and investment from China in the energy sector of Myanmar, with an emphasis on transparency and mutual collaboration.
