Disaster Respond: Yangon Region Disaster Management Committee meeting

Yangon Region Disaster Management Committee held a work coordination meeting at the meeting hall of the Region Government Office on March 28th with the attendance of Chief Minister U Soe Thein, region ministers and officials.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed to provide timely report on the statistics of damages as the 7.7 magnitude earthquake which struck at 12:51 PM on Friday has caused widespread destruction.  He also instructed to be readied for rescue operations in cooperation with district/township committees. The attendees made clarification on meteorological conditions, followed by the sector-wise discussion.
