Disaster relief drill: Mon State CM oversaw the drill

With the aim at carrying out the rescue efforts effectively if the disasters occur in Mon State, 2024 Rescue Drill for the Storm and Flood Disasters was performed at Tayar Hluttaw Seik (near State High Court) in Mandalay Ward in Mawlamyaing Township in the morning on June 7 with the attendance of State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, Chief Justice of State High Court, State Ministers, departmental personnel, departmental units and Civil Society Organizations who participated in the drill.

The drill began with the announcement of flood disaster and the evacuation of people who are living in the flood disaster hit area, rescuing those who are floating along the water current, making inspection at the flood disaster zone, giving medical treatment and distributing food and water at the temporary relief camp, providing first aids to those who sustained wounds and admitting to the hospital and clinic were practiced. The drill was overseen by the Chief Minister, Chief Justice of the State High Court and State Ministers.

Next, the Chief minister gave a remark on the Global Climate Change, natural disasters, requirements to participate in the drill for the natural disaster by people and CSOs.

Then, the Chief Minister provided cash of honor to the members of rescuing drill, looked round the collected disaster rescuing equipment and materials and life boats and other preparations by the Mon State social rescuing associations and fulfilled requirements, it’s reported.
