Disaster Management: MoSWRR Union Minister Looks Into Preparatory Measures

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine together with Deputy Minister U Aung Tun Khine and officials visited Emergency Operation Center (EOC) opened by the Department of Disaster Management on Thursday to inspect measures for special weather report No.3/2022.
On the occasion, the head of the department reported on the condition of the low pressure area over the East central Bay and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal, Northern part of Rakhine, it may concentrate into a depression during next (24)hr and its impacts on Myanmar.
In response to the report, the Deputy Minister called for issuing weather warning in timely manner to regions and states because the heavy rains and strong winds can happen due to the low pressure area and arrangements for preparatory measures. Afterwards, the Union Minister urged officials to monitor constantly the estimated path that the low pressure will move towards, the prospects, the areas that can be affected, special weather reports, arrangements for natural disaster managements in timely manner and preparatory measures for lessening damages and losses.
