Diplomatic Meeting: Foreign Affairs UM met with Diplomats

Deputy Prime Minister, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe met with the Ambassadors and chargé d'affaireswho are recalled to Myanmar to take the advice of the Head of State totaling 19 amongst the Ambassadors, chargé d'affairesand consul generals who are performing duties in foreign countries and also four Ambassadors who are going to perform abroad at Ayeyarwaddy Hall of the Ministry on 13th February.

Firstly, the Union Minister said that the heads of embassies are important as they are taking assigned duties in the world countries fulfilling the interests of the State and citizens and he explained about the meeting which is intended for the heads of embassies to be able to report the facing difficulties and to understand the policies of the State in time.

The Union Minister continued that in order to implement the foreign policy, not only the heads of embassies and staff, personnel from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are responsible and since it is done through international competition, it is needed to fully understand on oneself and one's opponent when implementing the policy with all-inclusive efforts without bias, to make the own policy success tracing the international situations, the nature of the diplomacy is to make an enemy a friend and the ambassadors already knew about the international relations and to carry out the state’s interests seeking the opportunity and reviewing the strength and weaknesses.

He also emphasized that loyalty is required especially in the relations of multilateral, regional and bilateral. The ambassadors are well experienced and needed to try hard with utmost strength for the State’s interest despite having the international pressures.

Next, the ambassadors and embassy temporary in charges reported the matters including bilateral relations between their respective countries and Myanmar, measures for enhancing relations, attitudes toward Myanmar from the countries in which they are serving ongoing work plans and State’s interest and on which the Union Minister instructed the needs.
